Chimpanzee(s) with machine gun(s)

2026 was going to be my year. 2 months in, design is dead and buried. Design in prod is the new european lifestyle. My TL is drowning with slop. Function> form is back.

I am predicting, 2 kinds of people survive this:

1. People who know WHAT to do- The idea guys. The opportunity hunters. The ones with previous experience in volatile environments. They are high agency with access to high status individuals.

2. People who know HOW to do it- The worker bees. The maniacs. They care and obsess over the details. The 10% that separates them from the 90%.

Great companies need both to thrive. With AI eating the middle, these people will only be harder to find.
