Don’t put all your chickens in one basket

The old world needed you to be an expert. The best in your business. The idea is so appealing: “Be world-class.” Sadly, this person won’t survive the AI apocalypse.

The Jacks will rule the new world. The average in all trades. Depth won’t matter as much when the landscape is morphing faster than you can draw your next breath. By the time you’re an expert, the thing you mastered might not exist.

And it’s scary. Everything you know and are good at might just… not exist?? All your life’s hard work could reduce to nothing. Void, nada. My best bet would be: diversify. Try things. Try fast, fail often. It’s daunting, and incredibly tough, and I suck at it, but it looks like the safest bet of all. Who knows, AI might just be warming up :)
